According to SNT-TC-1A, employers play an important role in training, organizing competency assessment and certification for NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) personnel. They are responsible for establishing an internal certification program, ensuring that employees meet the training, experience and competency requirements of the standard. Specifically, the roles and responsibilities of employers include:

1. Establishing an internal certification program:

Employers must develop an NDT certification program in accordance with SNT-TC-1A and the technical requirements described in the standards and regulations of the products they apply, including training, experience and competency assessment requirements for each NDT method.

2. Training of personnel:

Employers are responsible for providing or organizing training for employees, ensuring that they have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform NDT methods. The main content can be implemented according to ANSI/ASNT CP-105.

3. Organizing competency assessment exams:

Employers must organize competency assessment exams, including both theory and practice, to determine whether employees are competent to perform NDT work.

3. Issuing internal certificates:

After employees pass the assessment exam, the employer will issue a certificate, authorizing and allowing employees to perform NDT work within the prescribed scope.

4. Ensuring the validity of certificates:

Employers need to specify the validity period for certificates and have measures for periodic re-evaluation to ensure that employees still meet professional requirements.

5. Managing records:

Employers are responsible for storing and managing employee training records, experience, and evaluation results.

6. Compliance with regulations and standards:

Employers must meet the basic requirements of SNT-TC-1A and comply with relevant standards in the training, assessment, and certification process.

In summary, employers play a central role in developing and maintaining competent NDT personnel, meeting job requirements, and ensuring safety during NDT operations.
